Xee is an streamlined and convenient image viewer and browser. It is similar to macOS's Preview.app, simply lets you easily scan the entire contents of folders and archives, move and copy paradigm files chop-chop, and supports many more paradigm formats. It likewise shows animation for formats which support this.

Don't purchase. Xee 2 was a much better app...

But since its not supported by newer versions of OSX and considering I liked it and so much, I purchased the new version. I wouldnt have guessed they would degrate basic functionality the fashion they did. Total screen is soemtimes buggy. Auto fit images doesnt ever machine fit (and if you zoom an image, the zoom on adjacent epitome is completely random, sometimes smaller, sometimes larger). It's a shame, the one-time version no longer works and this 1 has conspicuously been carelessness for at least a couple of years, then dont look any updates or fixes.

I rarely write reviews but I feel compelled to because I love this program and I don't think the ratings hither reflect how good it is. I'm using the latest version, which at the moment is 3.5.three, and many of the complaints I've read in these reviews apparently apply to previous versions considering they don't apply to the version I accept.

I've used several other image viewing programs, both paid and unpaid, but this is my favorite. I shoot and sort a lot of images and Xee has some fundamental features that actually help me. Information technology has a pretty sophisticated copy/move arrangement where yous can dynamically specify up to 10 destination folders and then motility or re-create each image into ane of those destinations with a keystroke. I dearest the fact that virtually all of the many commands in the organization are assignable to keyboard keys via a very easy to utilise Preferences->Keyboard screen. So I've got my whole keyboard mapped out for quick scanning, zooming, sorting, and even some rudimentary editing (just rotating, flipping, and cropping). For example, I assigned the keys 1 through 5 to move the electric current paradigm to one of 5 different destinations, and so it is like shooting fish in a barrel to zip through and sort a bunch of images into good/better/all-time/reject, for example, or into "bride"/"groom"/"other", etc., with a single keystroke.

I practise have a few quibbles and I've given some feedback to MacPaw so I'thousand hoping we'll continue to see improvements. Only for $four it sure filled a large pigsty in the Mac image handling for me!

Below Average User Interface

This application does in fact display diverse graphic formats; yet, the user interface is rough and inappreciably intuitive and the awarding itself shows its age. With a footling actress effort this application could exist on the top of the heap. As it stands, information technology's a dissappointment.

When the application starts information technology does not open up a typical application window. Information technology puts the icon in the dock and in one case yous click on the icon the menu bar is parked at the top and ane has to physically click on information technology, select file and open a file or directory. I would have expected a more than intitive layout with directories on the left and film content on the right (more like finder). Y'all cannot scan through directories, select multiple directories or really do much with the interface that cannot already be done with scarcely more than work than ane tin can do with finder already.

Yep, it'south a little better than that, just for a paid application I would accept expected the writer to spend a lot more effort on the user interface and making the moving picture browsing a lot more like what is out of the box with Windows machines. Afterward all, that is why people buy apps similar this — to get what Windows does already out-of-the-box. Information technology's a shame really that nothing on Apple comes anywhere near Windows for flick file browsing.

Had I to do it over over again, I probably would not have spend the $iv, only on the other hand, it'south only $4.
